 Parang Ilang or mandau in indigenous communities in Sarawak, not just only in traditional weapons even it one culture that has survived until today. Although, more advanced weapons like the shotgun but parang ilang it remains an important weapon in the war at that time.

Parang Ilang or mandau been used to decapitate or in Sarawak they called "ngayau" especially during war. The owner of Parang Ilang have supernature power or they called "sakral"

Now, Parang Ilang or mandau used for hunting, cutting down trees, clearing and doing some work in the garden of community in Sarawak .


 The Terabai or shield is a symbol of hero Orang Iban and Orang Ulu in Sarawak.  It was made of hard wood and decorated with carvings on its front surface. The purpose as a defence during combat with the enemy, but now it's become a beautiful home decoration.



Sape as a music traditional in Sarawak. It made from a piece of wood, usually a piece of soft wood, such as Meranti . While the strings were once made from Sago tree but now replaced with nylon strings.

Sape will played during Ngajat ,which is a traditional  dance of headhunters but now playing on festive occasions or regular performances.
